it all started with love

This story is about my love for the Istrian land and my affection for my olive trees that grow there. Our olives need delicate nurturing every single day of the year. They reward us with luxurious olive oil that we extract from their precious green and golden fruits.

My connection with our olive groves began in my early childhood where my curiosity led me to help my mother Janja while she was working in our olive groves and vineyards. Although I enjoyed playing in the village with my friends, it was never difficult for me to help my mother working on our farm. After finishing my hospitality degree, I started working in telecommunications. Despite having a full-time job, I still cultivated our land every day. Once we chose to share our farm to tourists, I have now been actively working here for a number of years.

The origins of our farm date back to 1880. My brother and I inherited my mother’s farm in 2019. I took over a large part of the olive groves and a minor part of the vineyards. We currently cultivate 5.2 ha of land. We do everything ourselves – with the help of my young family, my father-in-law and hard-working friends, we have created something special.

Our olive groves are situated next to our Tourist Farm RED FAIRYTALE in the small village of Marezige near Koper. Our olive groves currently include 600 olive trees, of which 240 are newly planted. We plan to plant a few hundred more olive trees in the future.  The size of our farm allows us to do most of the work ourselves which helps us to pursue our mission, which is to maintain our high quality and create something unique for our guests. I will continue on this path to be able to always offer you the best quality olive oil.
